Emme Tangen
Class of 2026 · Los Angeles
Jumping Seat and Flat Candidate
USEF: #5500706
My name is Emme Tangen. I live in Rolling Hills, California, and I am a student at Palos Verdes High School in the class of 2026 with a current 4.6 GPA. I am a scholar athlete and rode for Chadwick School’s equestrian team for five years prior to high school. My goal is to be recruited by a D1 college equestrian team. In my spare time, I created an allergy-free dog treat business that sparked my interest in studying business in college. I have been riding competitively for six years, but started riding for fun when I was six years old. For the past three and a half years, I’ve been riding at Seahorse Riding Club with Devon Gibson (and previously also with Gabriela Pattinson). My love and respect for horses is immense and my desire to compete is strong. I take pride in my academic achievements and work hard on my time management skills to allow me to spend more time with friends and family.

Extracurricular Activities
Extra Curricular Activities
I was born with a severe food allergy to certain nuts. Given this challenge in my life, I was inspired to bake delicious dog treats for my black lab Akela who has a food allery to chicken. This led me to launching my online business Canine Bake House. Happily, my business grew rapidly but as I entered high school, I could no longer keep up with the orders forcing me to modify my business plan. I sourced a single, flexible customer, The Animal Hospital of SouthBay, who could work with my school/riding schedule to purchase my dog treats.
Since 2021, I am a volunteer leader at Manes For Movement, offering equine assisted therapies and activities for children and adults with a variety of needs in our community.
